Privacy Policy · Last updated: June 2026

1. Introduction

HER Working Women ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting the privacy of our members. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the HER Working Women app and platform, how we use it, and the rights you have over your data.

By using our platform, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

  • Account information — your name, email address, and phone number, provided when you register.
  • Professional information — details such as your industry, role, and city, which help us personalise your experience and connect you with relevant opportunities.
  • Community content — posts and messages you share in community channels on the platform.
  • SACCO information — for members of the HER SACCO, savings activity and loan information is displayed within the app. This information is provided by the SACCO and is used solely to give you a view of your account.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Operate and manage the HER Working Women community platform
  • Manage event registrations and RSVPs
  • Provide HER SACCO savings and lending services to eligible members
  • Send you relevant notifications, updates, and community announcements
  • Improve the platform, fix issues, and develop new features

We will not use your information for purposes beyond those listed above without letting you know first.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data to anyone, ever.

We may share your data only with service providers who help us operate the platform — for example, cloud hosting or messaging services. These providers are bound by confidentiality agreements and are only permitted to use your data to provide services to us, not for their own purposes.

We may also disclose information if required to do so by law or in response to a valid legal request.

5. Data Security

All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted in transit. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information from unauthorised access, loss, or misuse.

No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your account has been compromised, please contact us immediately at info@herworkingwomen.com.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct any inaccurate or incomplete information
  • Delete your account and associated personal data

To make any of these requests, contact us at info@herworkingwomen.com. We will respond within 30 days.

7. Children's Privacy

The HER Working Women platform is intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. If we become aware that a user is under 18, we will promptly delete their account and associated data.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. We will notify members of any significant changes via the app or by email. The date at the top of this page always shows when the policy was last updated.
